NexGen Utility Sales is a manufacturers’ representative firm serving the electric utility industry. We work with cutting-edge technologies and forward-thinking manufacturers to bring power and reliability to utilities across the region. We’re seeking a creative and driven Summer Marketing Intern to join our team and support key initiatives over a 10–12 week period.
About the Role
As our intern, you’ll get hands-on experience supporting a variety of marketing tasks, helping us build visibility, strengthen brand messaging, and tell the NexGen story. You’ll collaborate with our Marketing Manager to:
· Create and schedule engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, and our website
· Design marketing materials and visuals
· Capture and edit short-form videos for social media and promotional use
· Assist in preparing and organizing marketing materials for trade shows
· Conduct research on trends and competitor activity
· Help track performance metrics and prepare basic reports
· Support other marketing and administrative tasks as needed
Objective
Strengthen NexGen’s brand presence through consistent and creative content
Support preparation and organization for trade show marketing efforts
Develop and refine marketing materials to engage target audiences
Contribute to social media, design, and performance reporting workflows
Essential Functions
Create and schedule engaging content for LinkedIn, Facebook, and our website
Design marketing materials and visuals using tools like Canva
Capture and edit short-form videos for social media and promotional use
Assist with organizing marketing collateral for trade shows and events
Conduct marketing research on industry trends and competitors
Track basic performance metrics and help prepare reports
Provide support for other marketing and administrative tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Undergraduate student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, or related field
Previous internship or coursework experience in marketing, social media, or design
Interest in the energy or utility industry is a plus
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn and Facebook)
Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design tools
Basic video editing skills (Reels, Canva, iMovie, or similar)
Self-starter with good organizational habits and attention to detail
Bonus: Exposure to basic analytics (social or web performance)
Specialized Skills
Proficiency with social media platforms (especially LinkedIn and Facebook)
Familiarity with Canva or other design tools
